Children: The Silent Victims of Alcoholism

Alcoholism and other drug addictions tend to run in families.

More than 10 percent of U.S. children live with a parent who suffers from alcohol problems, according to the National Institutes of Health, and more than 28 million Americans are children of alcoholics.

Children of addicted parents at a higher risk for alcoholism and other drug abuse. They are the highest risk group of children to become alcohol and drug abusers due to both genetic and family environment factors.

Support children of alcoholics by offering them hope for healing, recovery, and breaking the cycle of alcohol abuse.
