Description
Frequently marketed as a dietary supplement, herbal ecstasy poses a great risk to those who use it. This Info to Go card covers everything that people of all ages should know with regard to this dangerous product. It begins by noting that herbal ecstasy is nothing like the club drug Ecstasy. Its active ingredient is Ephedra which is a stimulant. Ephedra affects the cardiovascular and central nervous system.
Herbal ecstasy comes in a pill form that is swallowed, snorted or smoked. Also known as Cloud 9, Ultimate Xphoria, or Rave Energy. Ephedra has been used in sports as a performance enhancer, and has been linked to the death of several athletes. Individuals who have heart conditions or who use anti-depressants put themselves at a higher risk of stroke if they use this drug. Additionally, users may experience increased blood pressure, an irregular heart beat, nerve damage, or death. Ephedra is banned in the United States, but this ban does not apply to Chinese herbal supplements, so many forms of herbal ecstasy are marketed as such. Use as a great stand alone handout or use it together with our other opioid rack cards.
