Smokeless Tobacco

___

Smokeless Tobacco is Not a "Safe" Alternative to Cigarettes

Chew contains 28 chemicals known to cause cancer and up to twice the amount of nicotine as a cigarette.

On average, chew products deliver a higher dose of nicotine than cigarettes, which makes these deadly products more habit forming.

Data released by the FDA and CDC indicates that smokeless tobacco is even more toxic than cigarettes.

The problem of smokeless tobacco use is prevalent in high school students. The CDC estimates that 5.5% of high school students used chew in 2014.

Chew contains chemicals that have been found to cause cancer in the pancreas, esophagus, and mouth. Smokeless tobacco can cause heart disease, gum disease, and precancerous mouth sores.
