Description
The InFocus: How To Tell If A Kid Is On Drugs (and What To Do About It) pamphlet provides parents a brief overview of the more common drugs of abuse – Marijuana, Tobacco, Cocaine, Amphetamines, Depressants, Hallucinogens, Inhalants, and Synthetics. It lists general behaviors and physical changes that suggest that a child may be using these drugs.
The pamphlet then offers a list of techniques parents should observe when they confront a child with their concerns, and suggests how to find professional help if the suspicions are confirmed. Since prevention is by far the best approach to drug abuse, this pamphlet suggests ways of reducing the risk that the child will succumb to the temptation of drugs including activities that both the parent and child can engage in. Communication is shown as the best force against child drug abuse.
This pamphlet is also available in Spanish.
